Green Impact Awards dinner
As a great end to the Green Impact season 2016-2017, we held an Awards dinner. The location was a fantastic event venue called Aspire, in Leeds City Centre.
There was roughly 20 people who attended, Green Impact team members as well as a special guest, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Paul Smith. For the first hour, we chatted and mingled and put everyone at ease.
Afterwards, Brian (Sustainability Student Placement) made a welcome speech thanking everyone for their contribution in the scheme, and highlighted how if we want to reduce our carbon footprint, we would need everyone's participation; then saying how much he's looking forward to this new Green Impact season.
Brian then gave the floor to Paul Smith. The latter congratulated everybody for their achievements and commitment. He highlighted how including sustainability culture into our works and how the staff shuttle bus were welcome changes in the university and finished with wishing everyone to enjoy the evening.
After an amazing three-course meal and tonnes of chatting and laughs, we then proceeded with giving the slates to the deserved winners. Congratulations to CARES City, CARES Headingley, Grounds Team, IT Services, Estate Services, and Secretary and Registrar Teams for their awards.
