Since we have revived warpit a few months ago, we have managed to save over £7000 in saving, avoided over a tonne of waste and 3000 kg  of carbon dioxide saved. Our biggest claim so far has been an astronomic 17 tables and 30 chairs from George who works the mailroom. He claimed these for a church he regularly attends. This is a perfect example of how the three pillars of sustainability comes in: social, economical, and environmental.  'I saw Warpit on classified and did not hesitate to join since I have always believe one man’s meat is another man’s poison. This Wednesday, we have reached a milestone in our recycling history. As many of you know, we have rolled Warpit for a few weeks now and we are still in the process of getting people to add items and then claim them. Blessed was our Wednesday when a lady (chose to remain anonymous) from Enterprise services in City Campus claimed a battery charger and collected it on the day . This unused battery charger sat redundant and if unused was heading to scrap. This is what warpit does - gives unused items a second life. 'I found warpit on the Sustainability newsletter sent to me and it was pretty straight-forward to register and claim the item. It will be useful for me and use it well.'
