About us
Our University has 2,900 staff, 28,000 students and occupies 125 buildings across two campuses, one in the centre of Leeds and one three miles north of the city centre in Headingley. As a large organisation our operations have a significant local, national and global environmental impact.
The Brundtland Commission definition of sustainable development views the environment and development as being linked, in conjunction with social and political factors. It also sees the whole world as having an impact on future sustainability. Further information is available from the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.
At Leeds Beckett we are aiming to find the balance between our social, economic and environmental impacts.
