World Food Day


We need to work together to ensure everyone across the world, has access to safe, nutritious and healthy food. In order to achieve this, we need to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle, working with others, sharing our knowledge and have a will to change the world.

Hunger is the leading cause of death in the world.

"Our planet has provided us with tremendous resources, but unequal access and inefficient handling leaves millions of people malnourished. If we promote sustainable agriculture with modern technologies and fair distribution systems, we can sustain the whole world’s population and make sure that nobody will ever suffer from hunger again".Global Goals

Annually, on the 16th October, people from around the world come together to declare their commitment to eradicate work hunger. World Food Day is one of the most celebrated days in the UN calendar.

What can you do to help achieve #ZeroHunger?

  • Don't waste food - save your leftovers by freezing them or using them as an ingredient in a meal the next day. 
  • Buy local and in-season food. Why not try and grow some of your own food. 
  • Produce more with less - our population is growing by the second and is expected to reach 9 billion by 2050. We need new ways to produce farm foods and diversity in our crops. This will help to increase a crops yield as well as improving the quality of the farmland.
